Canberra and District Wineries

There are more than 25 wineries in the Canberra Wine Region, collectively they now produce about 2 million bottles of wine annually.

The Canberra Wine Region traces its origins to the 1850's wineries at Yass. Today the region boasts more than 25 wineries, 350 hectares of vines and produces about 2 million bottles of premium wine annually, with production to double in the next five years. The four distinct wine regions, ACT, Hall, Lake George/Bungendore and Murrumbateman, are all within a 30-minute drive from central Canberra. The difference in climate and elevation of the four areas means that each year the region produces premium wines from all classic wine varieties. The region's wineries have over a quarter of a century of major wine show awards. The wineries are mainly small family businesses and you can expect to meet the winemaker at the cellar door.

The winery is situated just seven minutes from the city centre and, with its displays of historical winery equipment, is the perfect place to start your visit to the wineries of the Canberra District. The cellar door is a Tourism Award winner.
